Dr Alistair McAlpine is a dual qualified medical doctor and dentist, and now Head of Medical Aesthetics for Lightsculpt.
After completing his BDS at the University of the Witwatersrand, he then completed his MBBCh also at the University of the Witwatersrand. He holds various accolades and has numerous publications to his name. His special interest includes the relationship between odonto-stomatological (dental) aesthetics and facial aesthetics, the anatomical changes that occur with ageing and research into optimising minimally invasive techniques to reduce the effects of ageing.

Chances are you’ve come across Dr Alex Rawháni in the media – he’s South Africa’s own Dr Smile®. Currently completing his final year of a Masters in Prosthodontics, Dr Rawháni graduated top of his class at Wits in 2010. Dr Rawháni is also passionate about giving back to South Africa, and has been improving access to dental treatment by underprivileged communities for several years.
